I just fitted a pod filter on my car. Its not in a box or anything and i was just wondering will it eventually damage the engine sucking in hot air from the engine bay? Ive left the factory snorkel in just to try pump a bit of air in there but is there any other way to get cold air other than removing the L/H driving light and plumbing it up? Or do you not need outside air?
Has anyone done an install with plumbing from the L/H driving light up under the headlight and up towards the pod filter? If so i would love details. cheers

Most BA people just add the F6 lower intake to the existing airbox/panel filter setup. I got very good gains from a pod, but Im in cold Tasmania and have plenty of fresh air entering the bay so its not an issue. Perth though, Ive heard it gets f**k hot there. You wont do any damage, on a hot day in the middle of traffic though youd have been better off with the original setup.

In the middle of the front wall of your airbox
Bascially a rectange piece of pipe stuck to the front of it to get air from behind the headlight

so how would one work if there was no air box to bolt to? is it worth doing a custom job with some plastic tubing to get some air into it?

Yes and no. Personally I wouldnt but if you have time and money then go for it. You will only see any performance gains (very minimal) in really hot environments in which case by the time you get going and air starts circulating it will be back to normal anyway. So no, itll be fine as is should be getting enough from the snorkel and headlight gaps

yeh thats what i thought, definately thought snorkel would help still. Just a mate said it's a good idea to get some outside air into the engine bay. Dont know if he knew i still had the snorkel there or not.

This was one of my setups i had, no longer have that shield anymore, but i have kept measurments etc, to wonder make it out of stainless one day
   Then i welded a 90 degree bend to it
