hey just wondering what is causing my rebuilt EL XR6 engine to still burn oil after 40,000 after rebuild. if i put 5.5lt of oil after a oil change then when the next oil change is due, should there be the same amount of oil in there when u first put the oil in or will there be less?

Its normal for all cars to use a tad of oil between services but if it is excessive get it looked into.

Check wether it is burning or leaking oil. After a 'proper' rebuild you should lose almost no oil. Keep in mind a 500-100km oil change if there's been any machining erc to remove metal particles.

You positive it's not leaking?
Our EB2 is losing about 1.5litres every 2000km / 3months but when you have a look under the car you can see where its going....undercarrige is covered in the stuff lol.
