I have installed an 8" sub in the rear parcel shelf of Bazza the BA.
I have not bothered to replace the shelf carpet with the one
that has a speaker grille.
(this worked ok in my old ED apart from a rattle in the stop light)

at certain (low) frequencies something in the back begins to resonate,
and i'm buggered if i can find it.....

i can't imagine that this would be the case for cars with the stock sub installed
- so it must be curable.

Has anybody who has installed a sub in this way experience the same problem,
and have you found a solution?

BEST THING EVER for rattles is weather stripping, (foam with a layer of glue) I use it for sealing speakers but it works wonders for rattles, put it under anything that can move and you will have the quietest parcel shelf ever, if that doesn't work dynamat that sucker.

Check all your plastic clips also. Make sure everything is tight in place. Dynamat is awesome, but obviously something isn't pinned down like it needs to be.
