As the subject says engine light will randomly flash while accelaration eg overtaking etc. When done overtaking and back to cruising speed, light stops and goes out most of time but some times it stays on. Checked codes with code reader (cheap one from jaycar), it only says left bank cat not functioning. Has x force 4into1's fitted with stock cats. Doesn't seem to be low on power, not hard to start, but does idle at about 500rpm not 750 like it should. It is a 6sp auto btw.

Unfortunately this can occur with BF's 4 HEGO setup when you use long tube 4 into 1's. A recal is really the only proper solution.

We found that problem at the workshop,

We fitted aftermarket Bosch O2 Sensors, and it fixed the problem

hey guys thanks for the replys. Just an update on the situation went for a drive the other day and was driving alond the hwy went to overtake a car at about 90kph, when all of a sudden it had no power, it felt like i was in an old hilux. no bang or anything. So i pulled over and it stopped tried to start it no go. the only way i could get it to start was let it cool right down (2 hours). start it up, light flashing, running like a dog. After running for a while 5 mins it would not idle and stopped. checked codes and cylinder 5 and 8 misfire. so wacked it on car trailer took it home. chnged plugs, couple of coils, swapped between cylinders etc, no diff did compression test found all cylinders on left bank had 30-40 psi of comp and all right bank had 175 psi all along. so engine out and pull it down. found all lhs rings coked up and stuck in ring grooves (theres the cause of no comp) no 4 big end bearing has been chattering and small marks on all mains and crank. Also all the bores are lightly scuffed will hone out though. sorry for the long post..

the code reader was about 70 bucks it reads and erases thats about it.
