It might sound like a stupid question, but I have removed the rear wheel, removed the caliper, loosened the handbrake cable right off, there is supposed to be a screw opposite the inspection/adjusting hole in the rotor that you remove and then rotor is sopposed to come off.
Problem is, it dosen't come off. ANY HELP OR IDEA'S WOULD BE GREAT.. TA |

This would be better off in the Gearbox, Suspension, Brake & Driveline Workshop.
Is it a E series or AU/B Series?

1 phillips head bolt holds on each rear disc . lever the h/brake arm with a flatty and pull the cable off ?.
it needs a bit of encouragement pull harder or use a rubber mallet, just dont hit yourself in the face when it budges. big clamp from the hub with the arm on the back of the disc works to. hope it helps if ya havent got it off already. prolly its the rust around the studs and hub thats holding it there. |

Just rememeber to back off the adjustment cos people who reef on the rotor damage the clips which hold the handbrake shoes on. If they get out of shape, you will have all soughts of problems to adjust up the new handbrake shoes, cos it will be free in one direction and lock up in the other direction. Rookie mistake. It should turn the same forwards and backwards.
Trust me i've seen it heaps of times. The other week a falcon came in to work and he stuffed the clip on one side and the handbrake shoe wasn't even sitting in adjuster properly either. Some people shouldn't be let near cars. It had new pads and rotors on the car when we got to it but he couldn't understand why the handbrake wasn't working properly.

I forgot to mention, when the new shoes are in, make sure the shoes don't rattle around cos they won't adjust up properly. result of reefing the rotor off. the shoes should feel snug up against the backing plate. Hope this prevents any problems.
