Hi all
I'll be dropping an AU motor into a carby xf ute shortly so what is the best idea for fuel pump? XG tank and pump? or would an external aftermarket electric pump be suitable? and also the plan is to use a log manifold with e series engine/ecu looms so would it be better to splice in the xf interior loom to the ecu or rip that out and put in an e series dash loom instead(maybe whole dash yet) cheers |

You need an XG fuel tank.
aftermarket will be more difficult and you'd be asking for headaches as the XF tank hole is tiny. Your best off using the entire XG loom, as everything fits including the fuel lines. You need to use XG engine mounts, these will tilt the engine slightly so the log manifold doesn't touch the strut tower. You will need to cut a bit of the drivers side caster bracing where the alternator hits. You also need to use the XG sway bar as the XF one will hit the sump. The AU sump will need cutting and welding to clear the support brace too. see here: ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/au-sump-mod-for-e-series-t79648.html?hilit=au%20sump

I am wondering is it just the lengths of various sensor wires that are different between xg and eb looms,? i figured they would be near the same as the xg had a log manifold anyway, I dont have a problem with extending wires if i have to. Just trying to use what i've got. My main concern is the interior loom and adding the necessary wires to an EB ecu.
