my xr6t has just started to get what feels like a miss fire / hickup and starting to have trouble picking up RPM as fast as she used to
its all unmodified and still being serviced by fraud, looking over the books the plugs are nearly 40,000k old thats where i am throwing my first stone, but is their anything else i should be looking at first or should be aware of Cheers

If plugs don't fix it, try coil packs.

nut347 is right it could be the coils, becuz in mine around 100 thou kays, the coil packs go supposebly, but when i done the plugs it made the biggest difference, and then took it back to say it doesnt seem to have the pickup it usually does, but he said thats becuz im getting used to the power??
when it gets really bad like mine did everytime it gets over like 3k rpm it start missing heaps!

Plugs on XRT'S get changed at 105 K.

the big 100,000k service was done by ford but i cant recal if the coilpacks were done in the service, but it was a fairly large service
the car will rev to 3g no problems but you can feel it struggling after that will pull the plugs out later and check them out, if its coil packs whats the going rate for a set?

You can buy then seperatly, but I suggest buying a whole set.
Around $500 on ebay iirc.

also just realised my boost seems to be crap, the initial boost is there but by 3g its like its naturally aspirated,
i have tried the WD40 trick, it has worked alittle but i miss the down right tail dropping kick would the two things be combined?

definately ur plugs mate will be ur main problem, but also your coils aswel... i picked up a set of coils on ebay and they worked great in mine, only 150 for a set of 6, mikesmodelcars is the seller
becuz ur having the same thing as me, as soon as i got over 3 grand, it was naturally aspirated power becuz the coils cant handle the extra spark needed to provide at higher loads... but i got my plugs changed first and it made a huge differnce, so do them first and i guarantee it will help, then next coils... was just on another thread talking about the same thing, you can get aftermarket coils for a ba, 400 for a set which is great, and higher performance too. You can get Weapon X coils for them. http://www.weaponxperformance.com/catal ... ucts_id=75 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbWwQ35SuYQ

instead of spraying Wd40 in your solenoid, try replacing it, they are only about $30, if it is the problem itll save you hundreds...

i have also heard about even if the car is running fine try spraying some wd40 in the solenoid jsut to clean it up and supposebly get better boost and responce.. my cars running fine wandering if i shud do that... on another thread it was about doing that just as a way to get more power

yeah this happened to my car when the coils were shagged they had the crack on the sides of them that looked like lightning strikes and when the car is reved the spark arcs against the side if the rocker cover i was at power cruise at the time and had one spare but a few were looking worse for wear so i wrapped electrical tape around the rest of the for assurance

I changed the coils, plugs and the boost solenoid and POW, she is back in action
i would say you dont notice the gradual power loss untill you get it back 3 of the 6 coils had brown crap on then, looks like rust, and smell bad but yea their is so much difference, set me back $240 all up in parts and also found my car isnt a huge fan of BP ultimate98 compared to the Caltex Vortex98 on vortex it runs alot smoother and boost is alot stronger just somethin ive noticed in the last week or so since the parts change, anyone else noticed this ? or is it my imagination also on another note bit of bad luck though.. the diff bush has now started to go. what luck hey, seems simple enough to change over, keep me busy for the weekend
