Ford sell their parts so expensive, because when they stop making a model range of their cars and move onto the next model, there are these left over parts. The only way to recover the cost of these parts (as these parts would have been used for other cars not made), is to sell them at highly inflated prices - someone called them "Bandits" (told the tour guide directly) when we had a tour of the Campbellfield plant in 2000 for Fords 75th Year in Australia.

That and the fact that Ford has some parts which are so rare, you just end up paying their inflated prices.
