Im absolutley stumped :| :?:
Ok so when i bought the car the factroy fitted stereo wouldnt work, when power was pushed it wouldnt light up and i would just get crackeling not sure how to spell :| that but yeh crackeling from the front speakers.
Mums buying me a 500 dollar kenwood flagship model for my birthday, til then i decided to buy a cheapo from cashies 49 dollars TESTED working and I bought the converter harness for the stocko harness to kenwood adapter.
ok just you guys can tell me if i went wrong anywhere ill go step by step.
1 remove radio surround and ashtray housing
2 remove stock cassette player
3 attached factory to iso addapter and attached iso to kenwood adapter
and 4 where it all went down hill pluged in the the stereo and straight away without turning on acc i got crackleing, the stereo's heatsink heated up like a motherf****r and blew the interior light fuse and just left me stumped.
wat gets me is it powered up and everything for like 15 seconds and died.
i thought doged fuse so i replaced tried again, powered up, heated and blew another fuse.
any help is appreciated

one/both of the front speakers might be shorting out, check speaker wiring etc, dont keep plugging in the head unit you'll fk it.

Redo the wiring,

Earth. Find a metal point behind the face plate.
Speakers. Run new speaker wire.
Power wire. First tap into the Cigarette lighter first, if that doesnt work then run a new power wire as a test from the battery (be carful here)
Memory wire. (not essential for testing) Run a new one, bit tired here so cant remember if the cigarette lighter is accessory or permanent power.

If that doesnt work the head unit amp is my main suspect.
