Hello All
I have been trying to install the jaycar kit into my EF Ghia. I originally tried to follow the guide to run it through the factory system but failed. I then tried to install it as a separate circuit. It simply will not work when I turn the key. As far as I can see I have it installed correctly, I am starting to think that the unit itself is a dud. Here is the connection to the battery and after testing with the multimeter I get 12V from the battery to the red wire going into the control module as indicated below Here is the ground that I am using, it was one that was put there for an aftermarket alarm Here is a quick pic of the control module, those last 2 wires I have cut are for an aftermarket alarm (the one installed in this car does not work. Some pics of the other connections. O.k. so I have 12 from the car battery through the red wire, I have also tested each wire to the primary actuator with a AA batter and I get 1.5 V on each wire. I am stumped, I am about to give up and get a new kit, I don't see where I am going wrong, If anyone has an idea PLEASE HELP |

That is the guide that I followed, I could not get it to work with the factory locking, and now I can't get it to lock not using the factory wiring. As I said above I am wondering if there is any more testing that I can do to make sure I have everything correct.?
Will post up a wiring diagram when I get home. |

You can use the existing lock/unlock lines for all actuators.
Key thing is where you cut these lines - they do loop around in the RH front kickpanel area, so can be confusing. Where you cut the lines that come from the BEM directly, these go to the lock/unlock lines of that relay unit, the other ends connect to the blue and green lines. Use the door lock power (yellow lines), then you need a couple of wires to feed to the drivers front door as a master, earth is in the door wiring as well, and that's essentially it. Rear actuators operate in reverse to the front. For wagons, use the EB/ED wagon rear tailgate solenoid (So for EF/EL's replace the existing factory actuator) - so a 4 actuator aftermarket kit can be used.
