Just after a few numbers, got a mate running his XR6T next week and he's harrassed me into taking my XR8 out with him. Got headers, cats and flash tune coming in a few weeks but he wants me running with just the filter and cat back ive got done already. Its a 6sp man, 40km any ideas on times? Couldnt find much in the QM Registry and not sure on their mods? He's hoping to slip into 11's this time, last run 12.003, should i expect a high 13 with my setup as is? Thanks

I would say low 14's.

i would say flat 14.
For a decent low 13 or high 12, you need diff gears, full exhaust, tune and underdrives. My thoughts are dont be too aggressive off the line, the ba xr8s worst enemy is traction. high rpm takeoff will mean wheel spin and slow time.

Yeah wheel spin is the enemy, I've got a BA 3v mont and i ran 14.9 twice and had a whole lot of 15.2. The two 14.9's were the only 2 decent launch's i did(it was my first time). The rest the wheels were spinning, even got a 15.6 coz the wheels were still spinning half way down and I"ve got an auto.

Well i guess we'll find out what she does 'almost' stock. Ill be sure to post the slips, and also when i get the rest of the mods done ill run her again. Still like to know what they pull. Mu AUIII Xr6 is low in the 14's, was hoping the 8 could beat it stock as it sure cost a bit more. Feel free to post comments still.

Remember the AU is more than 200kg lighter than the BA.

Absolutely, but keep in mind power to weight the AU XR6 has 9.33 kg to push per kw stock (live axle), the BA XR8 has only 6.93 kg per kw. Even with my 6 modified it still has around 7.6 kg per kw to push (approx). Only had the 8 for a few months though so getting a good launch will be a mission, havent had any practice with it yet.

I realise that but the lack of bottom end in the XR8 means it's harder to get it moving. It's the reason a BA XR6 turbo is quicker...not as much power but lots more bottom and midrange punch.
