upIm looking to have a set of headers and cats done to my BA XR8. Liverpool exhausts are local to me and i recently had them install a twin 2.5" cat back for $700 which for me was good value, and sounds great. With the rest of the system i was thinking of keeping the same and tossing up between their HU407HTM headers which are tuned length 1 3\4, 4 into 1 and the HU399HTM which are step up design? Tuned length 4 into 1 1 3\4 - 1 7\8. Any one had these installed or know if the step up design is a good performer? Basically they up the size half way down the pipe length by 3mm. Pacemaker use the 1 3\4 all the way and difillipo 1 7\8, but none with the increase half way? Any thoughts?

I cant give much advice on what set up to run but personaly I dont like liverpool exhaust, I would along with many others recomend Hume Mufflers in the El Toro Estate, for anyone wanting an exhaust upgrade top quailty work everytime at resonable prices.
You should pop in there or give them a call and compare prices before you decide where to buy from.

Any particular reasons for this? Are we talking product or service? Its the product im interested in, and the whole step up design that no other brand seems to have.

My brother had hurricane headers on his supercharged eb xr8 and he was very happy with them, they were bought second hand from a member off of here (trickflow el).

Also i had a high flow cat fitted to my old ed classic 5 speed manual, they did a very good price on the cat for me and good workmanship, i ended up getting the hurricane headers for my 6 aswel due to recomendations from Brad.

+1 would buy from again and chris out at hume mufflers is a gun!!!.

Well i just got off the phone from Liverpool exhausts enquiring about the power differences with the Pacemaker copies and their step up design. He claims (and says he has dyno sheets) an increase of 30rwkw from the step up 44/47mm headers only, over the factory setup. I questioned this increase as it seems a bit unbelievable, perhaps 30kw from a full system, and id like to see these dyno sheets, but he insists its true. I think he might be smoking something, and cant wait to see his proof cos for $1500 fitted with h/f cats thats not bad.

No, 30rwkw increase over the factory ford headers (stock) for the step up headers. He claims the pacie tuned design 'he manufactures' gains 20+ rwkw over stock headers (more reasonable)
