Well my mate recently wrote off his xr6 e series and ive come 2 claim it for as many parts as I can get.

atm im stealing the front bar, possibly the little bonnet vent things, standard xr6 rims, rotors brakes.

now im assuming these will pretty much be a straight bolt on to my ef?

2 questions. I have been told that sanding down and respraying the front bar into a diff colour might be abit of a pain...is this true or should it be pretty straight forward?

is their any other items I can pick off the car that will add 2 the performance of my car ( that arent an absolute headf*ck 2 get out).

thanks

ECU, Head, Cam and Fuel pressure reg are the main engine differences. Don't expect a noticeable difference even if you installed it all though, from my experience the XR6 only really benefited noticeably from the lower diff gears.

Which brings me to my next point-The diff and trailing arms are different, LSD with 3.45 gears, better suspension geometry. The stock XR6 Exhaust would be slightly better too, but I'm sure neither your car or it will still have the originals.

The shocks and springs are different and will swap straight in.

Painting is a PITA unless you have the right equipment.

Brakes are all the same, booster may be different though.

Interior is much better etc, and will go straight in.

Is it an EF? Manual or Auto?

If you can paint, the front bar is no harder than any other panel really. It wont cost too much to get sprayed by a pro in your colour anyway, but I would be getting it and the lights for sure, theres $750 odd in one hit.
To get the diff out of it is a pretty simple job, tailshaft is also different, made from aluminium rather than steel.

If you can get the head with cam and rocker gear (XR springs are heavier), fuel rail + reg, ecu, front end and diff you've got yourself a good $1500 worth.

Swap out the ECU and fuel pressure 300kpa reg straight away, I wouldn't worry about the cost by putting the tickford head on. Don't worry about the 2.5in factory cat back exhaust either if it's still there. It only made a 2KW difference. EF II GHIA 162KW and EF XR6 164kw note the ghia has the stock 2.25in exhaust.

BTW your gli has a 3.08 diff and a xr6 has a 3.45 diff, change that aswell

cheers,....
