it does not have leather though.

That would be a pretty definite factor in saying its not a Ghia then hey.

Listen to EFFalcon. He's the man.

EFFalcon is correct, ED wa the last of the Ghia Wagons and as was the EF the last of the XR6 wagons. Anyone can stick a Ghia badge on a car.

I also stand corrected :) , however the EL I saw looked so stock it was as if it had rolled of the showroom floor as is.

What's a flip paint job?

'Flips' color depending on how the light hits the paint, often seen on ricers. Usually Gold to Purple. Hey you weren't in Tanunda today by any chance? Silver wagon with Fairlane front heading towards Nuri at about 11am. I was in the Red/Grey KC Laser go opposite way.

The best option is to simply change the covers.
the side seal bolsters from a SWB will 'fit' but arn't 100% correct.. if you wanted it 100% you'd need to change the material from onto the Wagon Bolsters.
Same with the Back seat backs, you can pull the covers and foams off the seat frame and swap them over.they're a direct swap.
the only thing you may want to check is the location for the head rest mounts.
the head rest mounts on the wagon frames were closer to the centre of the car then that of the sedan seats.had to cut them off and reweld them into the correct location.

I did same - the headrest mounts were only slightly out, only needed a cut in the fabric - not noticeable under the headrest. Recovering bolsters weren't an issue either.
Another way is to change the frame brackets - search for Banarcus Wagon build thread - he has pics from memory.
For a bit of trivia value, compare a sedan rear armrest to a wagon one.

Mine's got leather rear seats (& front seats too), but it's really only a Fairmont from the factory, so they are out there if you keep looking long enough. FYI, Ford stopped making Ghia wagons after the ED.

Actually, AU1 got the last Ghia Wagon. There was on 5L Ghia EL Wagon too!

Are you sure?

EB was the last Ghia wagon, then AU1 was the last Fairmont wagon.

AUIII was the last Fairmont wagon....
