My gues is that those cars may have "pursuit" rims on the back,
AKA "chasers". These are steel rims, wider but same diameter,
that the cops use.

They are made by ROH (probably others too) and also available
at the wreckers.

The silver chaser rims seen on Taxi's, Utes and Cop cars are indeed different to the black ones we see, but the only difference is that they are stronger. They are all the same width. Most Ford stockies are made by ROH.

Most wheel repair shops should be able to do the widening work. Youre up for $140-180/wheel. They will need to know the offset - 0 negative :)

I have some 15x7 (front) and 15x8 (rear) and lining up sme 15x10 (if I can get them to fit) for the strip :)

Money well spent if you want to keep unsprung weight light and a stock look.

The weight different between alloy and steel weels is amazing! Steelies are sooo light :D

i TAKE IT THESE RIMS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ARE ONLY FOR THE TRACK AS I HAVE HAD SOME NASTY EXPERIENCES WITH RIMS THAT HAVE BEEN WIDENED. APART FROM THE SAFETY ISSUES THE TRANSPORT DEPT AND THE LOCAL CONSTABULARY ARE RIGHT DOWN ON THIS PRACTICE. :?

There is a local performance parts place that has them here.
they had some 15x8 stockies in stock and said they could get them wider.
these were to suit the pre AU cars too.
i'd check that kinda place.
