Hi Everyone

Have just started sloooowwwwwww rebuild on my NF Fairlane starting off with motor bottom end is basically stock small overbore fully balanced ef tickford head no major work just cleaned up ports slightly stock xr6 cam. Will also be running extractors and 2.5 inch cat back. My question is would running a j3 be advisable.
I'm a bit old school and know sweet FA about car electronics so excuse my nignorance.

Cheers

If you get the J3 and the programming kit as well you can get benefits with a stock engine setup.
For one you can change the fuel maps to run it a bit leaner and save some fuel. These cars run pretty rich with factory setup. You could also extract bit more performance by programming for premium fuel. Also, if you decide to do a cam upgrade (and thats probably the simplest thing to give you some get up and go), then the J3 will allow you to get it idling sweet....
