Could be the brake light switch on the brake pedal is cactus, or perhaps just a loose connection to it. I'm sorry I don't have a pic of said switch to help you out, perhaps another member can help in that department?

It sounds as if you have a short circuit in your brake light wiring. This is when a wire goes to earth and causes your fuse to blow.So check your wiring going to the rear lights and your trailer plug wiring.I f you have a trailer plug then pull it apart and check the red wire is in the correct place. Also are you using a trailer ?Could be the short is in the trailer wiring. So what you are going to look for is the harness where it goes over metal parts and has rubbed through or have you fitted new but incorrect bulbs to the brake/tail lights.Have fun looking.Cheers Kevman.

yes i do have a trailer plug so should i just follow the wiring from the brake pedal and look for broken or damged wires

Yes that's the go but I would start at the trailer plug and the rear lights first and then trace it from the back to the front.Good luck Kevman.

First pull all your brake lights out and replace the fuse, try your brakes, if your fuse don't blow then you know you have a shorted brake light, just go to the shop and get a new set.

If that don't fix it at least you have tried the easy fix first.
