was there ever a 175kw EF XR8 standard?
i was under the impression there was a 165kw until EL2 which was 185kw. i have a mate bragging that his is 175kw. i tried to say it isn't but he's like yes it is. so yeh. correct me if i'm wrong

Yeah all EF had the ashmatic HO mainfold so were 165's.
I believe the EL2 with the explorer was 175 and the AU series 1 with Explorer and GT40's was 185.

Got the book sitting in front of me,
ef v8: 165kw @ 4500 388nm @ 3000 ef v8HO (xr8): 170kw @ 4500 400nm @ 3000 el v8: same as ef non xr. el v8HO series 1 (xr8): 170kw @ 4500 400nm @ 3000 el v8 series 2 (xr8): 185 @ 4500 400nm @ 3000 (This was achieved with explorer manifold & extractors) I do recall reading somewhere that the very last of the ef xr8 had some tweaking of the ecu and it was 175. hope this helps. |
