this is the part just behind the back seats and i want to make it flat so that i can sit my sub box on it (when i make it). does anybody have any ideas on what would be a good way about this? i was thinking of using a few layers of body filler and then gluing carpet to it to make sure it stays together but im interested in what other people think. thanks heaps.

BTW, its an EL

just get a piece of mdf and screw it to the hump, make sure u check where u put the screws in aswell cos u dont wonna punch one straight through a fuel line or somethin important.

just go to a hardware store and get a full sheet of 19mm mdf (or 18mm lol i cant remember) and that way you can build the box while your at it, a full sheet should only cost u about $32

cheers,
Tomo

Id be glueing the spacer down. Dont believe in creating new holes in a car body unless absolutely necessary

Get a sheet of MDF as ED_XR6_5 SPEED said and use that as your base. Personally I wouldn't make holes in the floor. I suggest making a bracket out of metal and use the seat bolts you can see in the picture you posted as an anchor point...wouldn't be hard to get pre-made steel brackets from Bunnings and then bending them to get them to fit. Another way would be glueing it down, but that would be a pain in the a** to remove.
