are you using an adjustabe vernier cam gear? or stock cam gear ? maybe its a tooth retarded/advanced?

Did the mechanic put the extra shims in?

When i had my cam set at 5 degrees retarded with a vernier gearit didnt do a whole lot till about 3500 rpm either. Could have just got a cam that is ground a few degrees retarded. 5 degrees made a lot of difference on my car.

I'm not sure if this goes for every car, but when mine was slightly retarded I had more pull down low, advanced it a few degrees (via a vernier gear) and it was pulling harder but at higher RPMs (previously at 2500RPM, now at 3-3500RPM ish).

you would hope that the shims were fitted. Clarification is needed.

Most of the times Wade cams are best set to 0degrees for optimal power. I would use a vernier as an option to dial the cam in to a specific rev range you think you will mostly benefit from. Please correct me if Im wrong.

What I meant was they are ground to be fitted in the exact same position as the stock cam.
