$550 for the work you want done is a good price.
It is very slow and tedius work and with you saying you want no bog it makes it that much bigger job wise. Wanna play you have to pay..................

yeah if your only learning i would not even think about attempting it, Lots of measuring and very careful cutting not to mention the welding and griding. Id like to do it myself toboth my falcons but i have spare bonnets so i can afford to stuff it up to a certain degree. Its been along time since i worked in a panel beaters but we were working on about $70 an hour.
you may be lucky and find a beater willing to do a cashy but may i suggest you check some of his work before hand, if he pumps to much heat into it its going to have more waves in it than bondi |

yeh i was told if to much heat goes into it itll be worthless, im guessing it be best to pay the good bucks being that its a bonnet an dont want a screw up being bulges dont come cheap.
we got a fella that does customs cars in my suburb, world renouned aprently, but also comes with a big feee i would say.

Yeah its going to hurt the back pocket but you do have a pretty neat fairmont, and it would look great. I would have a chat with the fellas that have quoted and see if there is any flexibility in their quote. you never know your luck

i wouldnt mind if it was going onto that blue mont, but sadly pulled half it apart and the other half this wknd to sell as a stock mont, the bonnet is going onto a v8 el fairmont.
but yeh ill keep hunting around for prices an see waht i can turn up, not in to much of a hurry but would like it done jsut in case a deal pops up for painting the car
