......to upgrade my front speakers or splits, wanting the speakers to sound a little more crisp and eliminate that little bit of distortion they put out when cranking up high.

anyway would anyone be able to recomend some speakers that would suit?? (Please dont recomend Pioneer) i think they are a 6- 1/4" speaker in the front door?

i was thinking a set of Kevlar splits by response audio from Jaycar.

any suggestions, please

In reponse to the question there are a number of speaker brands you can try and it depends on your budget.

I can see your looking at the Jaycar splits so lets say it $200 - $300. I would look at the Jaycars, Alpine, Phillips make a nice split system for $180, Hertz and a number of others. I would try the lower end focal speakers.

Generally i think there is better value for money and better sounding speakers than Sony, Cadence and some others.
I have a friend with some Cadence splits and subs and he is very dissapointed (as am i) with the sound.

I spent a weekend trying to tune them with an EQ and couldn't get it to sound any good.

i ended up getting some alpine type s 6.5" splits for the front, they anren't that much different just sound a lot more clear. i prob wont notice that much different until i upgrade my head unit.
also got rid of my free air 15" sub and replaced it with a 12" alpine sub in a 1.1 cubic foot box. has a lot more punch sounds way better.

i have actually found a set of JVC splits i think are sold at jb hi-fi that were under $200 for the budget consious. but imo, front speakers are the most important part of a quality system, as thats where you are sitting. so if its possible, i would invest in a set of Focal or even MB Quartz splits, top quality component speakers, they sound awesome.

One brand you need to know.. Boston Acoustics. Expensive but why do we work for? Always remember that when it comes to stereo gear you get what you pay for.

my mate jus got some focal splits glass series speakers from canada for 350 i think they worth about 600 700 over here, they are run by a soundstream amp and u can crank them right up till u can feel ur ear drums shake and they r still crystal clear i fully recommend them to anyone.... im saving for a set myself...

im running my ef premium sound system deck and stacker however im running 2 clarion amps, 2 subs and the deck is fine. My system sounds excellent except the front splits aren't powerful enough and they aren't very crisp.

The stock splits are s**t and i am going to upgrade soon to JL splits.

Cadence and Pioneer are as worse as eachother. I prefer kicker over any of them

dude, you obviously either dont know s**t from clay, or you've only ever heard cadence

Pyroay, Australian SQ champion....... ask him what cadence gear he runs

wander on over to www.caraudioaustralia.com and ask the people there what they all think of cadence

f*****g know-it-all teens

btw, i've heard cadence too..... and i rate it right up there alongside sony, boss, avalance, etc...... all show and not a lot of go

dont believe all the marketing s**t you read kiddo

No point arguing really, i believe in one thing and you in something else, i can admit the fact that pioneer make the best value for money audio gear but i can't say it is better then cadence :(

Have you tried the pro range stuff from pioneer??
Very nice, very crisp, good price too. (its what i have)

Cadence is s**t, go JL or focal

Nothing beats JL , and i should know, i did a tour of the iasca championships at greenville north carolina US when i was running my car audioshop, did the kicker factory and JL factory, both companies make perfect products, but JL are always one step ahead.

so if your going to spend the money don't go past JL
