well the offer is to me a xf panel van straight no rust with what the owner thinks is a blown motor (but still runs like a bag of sh*t tho) so i question mark that part of it currently still got rego but wont pass coz of the motor probs but sat pits within the last 6 months and new gas system

the owner just wants it gone and has moved on and is mine for $200

ive already got some 18in chome wheels sitting there and gear to having it sit at a nice height

what do you guys think
as far as

ef xr6 front end
ef/el dash ba xr seats
ef tickford inline 6
a xf replacment motor from a diffrent xf panel van
paint the rear windows solid black (cheaper then tint)
deck out the rear with a sound system small lcd tv
new paint job in blueprint
ef fairmont bonnet
ef fairmont front bar
twinlight setup

any more ideas guys i been thinking about doing a panelvan for a very long time heres my chance

well its an XH so choose the EF XR front, EL's look ugly although they do have better air intake

Well given that its an XF panel van it would take a fair bit of work put an EF, EL or ED front end on it because XF is still the square shape. Also an EF tickford I6 or a 351 would require an engineers certificate to register it because the XF's only came with the 250 xflow in them. Also there was no XR's in the XF's as so you wont find and XR engine out of an XF

id be pulling a ef/el tickford motor from a ef/el

i believe correct if im wrong but u can interchange xh parts onto the xf panel vans lights bumper bonnet for example

You would still need an engineers cert to get it registered though.

Nah because when Ford made the XH they changed the whole front end so it's much the same as the EF/EL and I'm fairly certain that parts can't be swapped over to the XF's or even XG's for that matter or at least not with out modifying

I'm not saying it's impossible but it would take modifying there is a build thread here for an XF with an XH front end http://www.fordmods.com/commercial-sponsors-forum-f53/ash-s-351-xf-ute-t75186.html

Agreed on that.
All achievable as it's been done in various forms but takes a lot of hard work, only one I'm not sure on is an ef fairmont front end because it would require cut and shutting a bonnet as xh bonnet and guard re 1 of a kind, the rear or of the bonnetis xf blended into ef at the front as they run a different line same problem for dash,, something tells me the raised lines might match up with the fairmont bonnet making it easier than some to do it with.
as Ash had done rad support etc.

Personally if your going to make it a project car, remove to widows and panel over if anything it'll give nice ressess to smooth in an lcd with some panel and fiberglass work.

basically be prepared for a lot of grinding welding boggng fibreglassin and panel work.

If there's no rust for 200, grab it, but be careful the ones I've looked at were all rusting.

no reason you have to rush it, just be aware a big project but' it'd be great when done, love pano's.

Nothing wrong with how an XF front looks anyway; XH is definitely a possibility but I reckon they might be a bit hard to find, and therefore costly...another thing to do that was popular in the day was Fairlane or LTD front clip, that can look quite classy and I'd suspect would be easier (cheaper) than XH front...but anyway, just my 00.02c...
