Hi guys in my xr8 when the car is cold the oil pressure gauge reads about half when she is all warmed up the oil gauge runs nearly on 0 is that an indication that the sender is buggered also my voltage regulator is all over the joint

How long ago was the oil changed?.
I had this issue 1. my idle was too low and it wouldn't charge the battery ( which caused my gauges to flutter) 2. I hadnt changed the oil for such along time that it had become thin and the oil filter was chockers full.. At idle while cold the pressure was fine until it warmed up then it would drop near 0... Also check the senders plug unplug it and it should show the gauge needle over 7, if that happens most likely sender is fine. Brad |

Or a tired motor, try a heavier eight oil and see if it makes a difference, if not, look at replacing the oil pump.

Put a mechanical capillary tube gauge on it when it's hot, maybe just before you do the oil change. This will give you a true reading which will tell you where the problem is.
