hey all, i'm trying to install a genuine Ford mobile phone presenter/platform in my EF but i can't seem to be able to get the metal clip to latch onto anything, or get the t-bar surround to sit flush. do i need to cut away any plastic to get it to fit? thanks.

dad had a phone presenter in the old EF, which he removed when he gave the car to mum.

ive got the old Tbar surround under my bed and can get a pic if u need one, but its got 4 holes in it from bolts and a 5th hole around the edge which wiring ran down.

It may be because the phone presenter was an EL part, and the EF trans shifter surround doesnt have all the built in clip holes that an EL does.

I know even with an EL the, the surround never sat 100% flush with the console once the metal clip was in, but there was enough room around the surround to accomodate the clip.

thanks for the replys, BF XR it sounds like dads car might've had an aftermarket phone kit installed, the factory one just clips onto the console. here's a borrowed pic off dcstraight

and arm79 thats an idea i'll check out an EL when i'm at the wreckers. thanks.
