Hi Guys.
Im looking at experimenting with the above clocksprings on my XF (mostly EB). Whats the difference between the clocksprings? - is there anything that will make it more likely to work? Thanks Nigel |

The AU airbag has a different plug to the one on the EF/EL. The AU also has 1 extra wire that does not exist on the EF/EL, whcih is used for the audio controls. The clock spring itself looks the same and mounts to the combination switch and column in the same way It is also worth noting that the resistance values of the buttons on the steering wheel are different, and the way that the horn and steering wheel controls connect to the clock spring are different Cheers Chris

Thanks. None of that worries me - more to whether or not I can still cancel the indicators with a clockspring installed - and how that might work.
I really need one in my hand - but thats not likely is it. Im looking at the XF Column, EB Switches, EF Clockspring as a combo. All that I see says it will work. Im not using an airbag. Nigel |

Nigel The clock spring on the EF/EL/AU only clips into the combination switch, it does not interfere with it. The main question will be would one of these clock springs clip onto the combination switch - as this is how they are mounted in the EF/EL/AU. If this was posted last week, I would have pulled the combination switch out of the EB before it went to the scrappy and tried it out. Oh well
