Im looking at a mild cam for the ute and just wondering what some of you guys think of each cam and your experience with them. Just want to get an idea from you guys that way I know where I stand. Car is a XH XR6, 5 speed, 3:45 LSD with soon to be extractors and 2.5" exhaust.

Cheers, Justin

what happen to v8 5spd idea justin ?? I'd call joe at cms as i think his stg 2 is similar to 1636 from memory but when i spoke to him he reckon the 2a cam would suit my old xh xr6 5spd really well..

Yeah the v8 idea was nearly there. Due to family commitments Ive had to work all my s**t out and then settle for minimal work on the 6 for now. Sucks I know but when your a 2nd year apprentice mechanic, 20 years old with a 3 year old son and trying to move out of home, you got to get your priorities straight.

its a re-grind and was $120 but it was already grinded. but you can send your cam away to wade and they'll regrind it , i was qouted $151.00 + postage depending on where you live

and yes you need and extra set of standard shims, so you'll have 2 shims in each HLA.

it goes hard, it would go even better with extractors and j3 i reckon

cheers corey
