As above, has anyone ever fitted the EL handbrake into an XH ute? I would like to get rid of the old umbrella brake, and fit the EL handbrake beside the seat. I have an old EL sedan for all the parts, or will I need an EL wagon for the cables and mounts? Do they use the same rear cables, or do I need to replace everything?

Thanks Ash, I suppose I should get everything out of the EL and see what I need to do to make it all work.
When you say "I need to change the lot" do you mean the diff and / or brake calipers as well? I have one sticky rear caliper at the moment, wont release after the handbrake has been on. If I reach thru the wheel I can release it by hand, but it can be annoying. More so now that I am going manual. I will probably swipe a caliper from our donor ute to solve the problem on the cheap. The list of things I need to remove/modify/reinforce/repair/install for this T5 conversion is getting longer everyday. I thought if the EL handrake swap wasnt too big a job I would do it while doing the T5 swap, as the handbrake cables have to be removed & refitted at the same time anyway......

If you have a look at Banarcus's ED wagon thread, he has pics of an EL handbrake adapted to the X series system.
There is a fair amount of primary cable travel difference between the systems (X series heaps, EF/EL very little).
