Hey guys, ive got a XE sedan with a 351 and a c4 auto.Im putting it all together and am having problems regarding the starter motor.I was told a BA 6cyl would do the job,it fits in the space great but the holes dont quite line up,has anyone ever fitted one of them to a auto 351 XE? Would i need a spacer like i heard you can use to fit the starter motors?
I also have a reco'd Bosch 351 clevo which i had fitted, but the solenoid on the starter were pretty much touching the extractors, which are hurricane 2v four into ones, which is why im going for the other starter. If anyone has any suggestions as to what to do,please let me know. Cheers,Scott.

Ah okay, what exactly do you have to grind down and how much of it is required to be grinded down?

its been a long time since i did one, but from memory i think u need to grind a little off the flange ring that locates in the bellhousing (marked in blue) and then a notch needs to be taken out of a rib on the centre support (blue cutout) on the lower side of pic to clear the ring gear.
if u put it together and use a torch u can see where it hits |
