hi, i got a ba fairmont and it has a clunk in the rear. only on a suddon bumps..harder the bump the louder it is.any ideas what it could b, was thinking shocks??

Have all the cradle bushes checked, BA's are common wearers of Cradle bushes, bit job to change as the Cradle has to come out.

also the pissy rear sway bar links are known to s**t them selves.

hard to do or just time consuming?? is there a better bush to replace them with?? seems to be coming from the drivers side...

Have seen a case where the big bolt that goes into the back of the diff hat strip. You have to drop the cradle to fix it.

Hey Mate, I had this EXACT same problem in my 03 Fairmont Ghia. Took it to the mechanic and he put two brand new shockies in the back end, havent heard that sound since.

yeah i checked the shocks last last night they look like they could do with replacement aswell as the sway bar linkrods

alot of people damage the link rods when fitting. You need to hold the rod from turning with a shifter, otherwise you tear the rubber.
