Hey Guys,
Interested in lowering my BF XR6 while still being at a legal height, Will lows look much different? Will super/ultra low take it past the legal height? Any input would be much appreciated... Also if people could post the lowest point of their car if they have lowered a B-Series.

Just be aware, if it's your xr, I believe they already have the equivalent of lows.

Each change in spring type "low, super, etc, etc" brings about a 20 to 30mm difference from the previous type.

My BA XR with the standard height scrapes speed humps and hits the front spoiler as it is.
Going lower than that is crazy. You will scrape the belly on everything, especially if the car is loaded.

yeah i had super low's with 20" rims and it would bash scrub and scrape everything now i just got the low's and its heaps better best way to lower is to get a center hub to guard measure and call kingsprings or something

mayhaps you either have extremely large speed humps or you need to reduce your approach by around 30-40km/h.
my standard xr height mont has never scraped anything being sensible. way too much bounce.

i had a ba xt. put king ssl in it and it rode fine, got a slight graze now and again on a large bump but nothing i couldnt live with. sat about 30mm lower than an xr. stock xr sits lower than an xt though, so maybe just go for superlows.

I got SL in the front and SSL in the rear and it sits nice. I dont have XR kit though, and if i did i imagine it would be a little painful.

Superlows in my ute on the front, reset leafs in the rear, 20" rims, I need to plan my routes ahead to ensure there arent too many obstacles! I fear I'll eventually grind away enough of my exhaust to make a hole.
I dont know about the legalites of things though but standard XR height is pretty good as is. |

i had my ba with ssl spring in it for 3 years and never had an issue with cops. it was never measured but im pretty sure it would of been legal. but then again i dont go acting like a complete an utter nugget on the road. theres a time and place for giving it herbs, and times for being sane, so i got left alone and brought little attention to how low my car was.
