Hey guys,

Put Ultralows in my EL Falcon, and the exhaust rattles on the rear axle on idle, and when i'm driving I can hear it bouncing on it.... Anyone have any idea on how to stop it? Would be best if I can do it at home, but if i need to take it to an exhaust shop that is fine.

Cheers
Josh

No way I can shorten it to be closer to the chassis?

Like this is the most loudest annoying rattle....

You can bend or extend and bend the exhaust hangers to make it fit better, my exhaust was done after the superlows went in, a bit of time getting it right, and it sits up higher than the standard one and doesn't hit or rattle at all, but a hoist makes it a lot easier than trying to do it at home.

does it have a haymann reece tow bar?

all i did to raise mine was remove the exhaust hangers and pull them up to the highest loop possible.

but when it's loaded with a car load it hits the tow bar

Hi guys I have been a exhaust fitter since I was 14 years old, and I find most of the falcons have stuffed rubber hangers, or if the tail pipe is hitting just near the bend at the center muffler you can sometimes tap the tail pipe further into the muffler, check to see if the pipe is sitting the correct way as this also can be a issue,

The part number for the rubber is
Pro Ex--- FDR008
Walker--- A7056
Mackay---A1996

Seems to be hitting on the bend over the rear axle... should just cut it off before the axle and have side draught exhaust 8-)

Nah i'll see what i can do with the hangers, are they welded to the chassis or whats the deal with them?

they should be bolted, there are 3 hangers on the tail pipe and one at the rear muffler,

the one at the rear muffler which is the main problem as its holding the most weight, but all the tail pipe ones may need to be replaced,

What system do you have,

2.5" Mandrel exhaust system, not sure on brand as it was done before I received the car. Will have a look at them today when I service it, and hopefully i can figure out a way to raise it closer to the chassis. Exhaust shop told me that they can either apply heat to it, and move it, or replace the whole tail pipe (which I think may be just a way for a bit more $$$)

Cheers

With Ultra Lows, the best way is to have a custom mandrel tailpipe made, I have done quite a few

Well the rattle is still around, lost my job so can't get it attended to. But it's just a loop over the axle, so if i were to put some thick rubber between the axle and exhaust would that help??

Cheers

Get an old wire coat hanger.

Wrap the wire around the pipe, pull it through the holes in the car body up the top of the diff arch (you will see them under there) and twist together to desired height.
