Whats got to be done? What will work and what wont? Its an ef fairmont 1994 auto, it has a tickford ecu from a ef fairmont and thats all, the rest is stock. The au engine is fitted and all the ef hardware bolted on,only the au knock sensor has been kept on the motor. The car goes good and has heaps of power but splutters and backfires (out of air filter) off the mark not only under load but in park.I searched but could not find any info on the site.Is it the cam? will the head have to be changed to the ef so it can run the ef cam? They said the car didnt have the problem before the engine change.Didnt see car running before the au engine was fitted.Noticed that when you put the car in diagnostic mode, when first start it back up it doesnt miss, then it seems the computer takes over and it goes to crap. Any help would be good.

How did you fit the cam angle sensor?

would the MAP sensor make it pop out the inlet? maybe the air temp sensor? I have never seen this happen, but maybe.....it is an ef and it does what it likes with ignition timing!

not MAP sensor tested! not cat run it no exhaust! swapped new coil pack not that! Not leads! Not plugs! Not exhaust sensor!

what the hell is wrong with this thing? if you stab the throttle it back fires out the air filter,if you rev it slow its fine.I didnt fit coil pack or leads so not sure, but they are new! anyone had a back fire out the air filter? (not LPG).

When i disconnect the air temp sensor it does nothing?

So if you disconnect the sensor under throttlebody and it does nothing does that mean its not working? or does it mean it does stuff all?
