Fuel filter should be replaced automatically after purchasing a car + consider the condition of the fuel pump.

172 is actually HEGO reading too lean, it doesn't mean the sensor itself is faulty. This is often caused by LPG systems because LPG runs leaner than petrol(approx 15.7:1 vs 14.64:1 for petrol).
Your MAF could still be stuffed as could your injectors. LPG backfires can kill MAF's and, if the injector power is not cut when running on LPG, the injectors will still be operating without fuel and this will kill them. The LPG system should also turn your petrol pump off. Disconnect your battery to zero out the KAM(keep alive memory) and try again before you replace anything else. |

If the car ran exactly the same as when the MAF was unplugged I would say that's your problem.

yeah misses on idle badly now decided it would like to rev at 1500rpm thats always fun
but found the problem eventually was a valve problem went to ford pro got 2 heads with this big T marking on them anyone know what this means also having them fully rebuilt at cavalier engine reconditioner's smithfeild so all should be good next thursday just need a master computer reset i think and all should be sweet |

what do you mean a valve problem?
a cam install is always a good option while you have the motor apart. while your there you might aswell install a new timing cover and water pump. |

i got told by engine tuners that 2 of my valves in the head have cracks as it idel good cold but once warm expands the cracks and is impossible to get to run right so i bought 2 second hand heads and having them serviced then have decided to change cam and not sure at the moment to change to roller rockers everyone telling me to do it but what exactly is required i did a quick search but dont understand

The gears will make a big difference, I just picked up a 5.0 with 3.89s in it, the difference between that and stock is amazing, depending in your tyres you can find yourself slipping when taking off at the lights in the wet all too easily.
