Depending if its t3 or t4, if t4 thats way too big....
If you could get a gt3582r your set mate.... Dont go too big with rear a/r with a p-trim turbine wheel. There are plenty of turbo's that will work, whats your power goals? no need to get a T51r if you only want 300rwkw. My turbo is a t60-1 which is good for 600hp so its enough for what i want/need. |

Im putting a 3000 stally in the c4 and use it for burnouts, drag racing and to drive now and again. Power wise 300-350rwkw would be nice as my old twin turbo 6 had 221rwkw at 7psi and it was fun so few more would be nice. Im looking at doing similar to what you done with your car but on the drivers side and use w2a intercooler... phill

Sweet im interested in going to w2a just concentrating on the family at the moment so i haven't started anything yet, because were i put mine ill have to put a ba bulge to fit the cooler on the manifold.
If its that big it might be really laggy.. You better start a build thread on it. |

Master power T70 is best bang for buck NEW turbo for 5.0...Under $1K...
Anything close to above or T04Z with .84 A.R rear housing for std engine... With better heads, F 303 cam a larger A.R can be used.. T04 housings are much better with 5.0 engine..Single T3's tend to choke in upper rpm.. Often buying a NEW turbo is better in the long run.. You can use an old one for fabricating ...

Interesting idea's guys, i will be keeping the T04Z & T70 in mind. I've had the luxury of driving my g/f's Tx5 turbo around the last few days, man, i really need to get a turbo car for myself on the road. They are so much fun to drive. It's been too long since i have driven my turbo torana (5 years ), i had forgotten what a daily dose of boost was like....
Cheers ToranaGuy

So whats wrong with a gt3582r on a V8?, those other turbo's are way overkill for what most people would want.

Rule on thumb guys
a 66mm comp wheel turbo will make upto about 650rwhp and is is good for up to 347 cubes depending on exhaust side. EBXR8380 is spot on and another turbo to use would be the BW S366sx a there great value for money and there a awsome turbo, also get it direct from the US as its cheaper than local.

If you are going to go with a C4 auto i would go for a T4 flange, starting from 0.96AR for auto and manual 0.84AR if you go T04Z or Garrett T51R on a standard to mild set up. Auto spools the turbo faster than manual so you can go bigger in the AR.
T04Z, 1.00- 1.14 auto/ .84-.96 manual http://www.gcg.com.au/index.php?page=sh ... &Itemid=53 T51R, 1.05 auto/ .91 manual http://www.gcg.com.au/index.php?page=sh ... &Itemid=53 Well built engine with stroker, i would go for, http://www.gcg.com.au/index.php?page=sh ... &Itemid=53

Is this one of your mates builders friends dogs advice... Again what is wrong with a gt3582r on a near stock h.o motor?... If your serious about it go talk to gcg.., Unless running 14psi or more your not going to see the full benefit/potential of those 650rwhp turbo's. A 347 could use a Q trim in a .90a/r many/all T4 comp wheels will work, |

Real world expierence my friend and my numbers are also lowish and can make more, also just becuz i dont post stuff of what i have done dosent mean i havent or a friends workshop hasent Did i say there was something wrong with a 35/82R................... no i didnt and you can use it but id go the next step and have a turbo that can grow if i decide to go bigger cubes, heads, cam or what not.

Again to answer the OP a gt3582r will do fine for his plans with the h.o motor.
Just remembered too you can get that turbo with a t4 a*** so you would never have bp problems, i think you can push over 350rwkw thats more than enough to run 11's. That 331 in NZ is run std heads with port work and bigger valves and im pretty sure there e7's makes 380rwkw @ 14psi through a T04z. Look at yobbos car, small turbo but c4 auto + stally looks like it will s**t 12' easy with not much boost.. Ah mickyyyy hook line and sinker |
