hey all, troyman posted about a starter motor bypass for when the smartlock stops the starter motor from working.
i have full EF gear, smartlock bypass now hooked up to the ECU but still wont turn over... what 2 wires to i need to join at the BCM to gain starter motor control? |

yeah changed them at the fuel pump too to see if id get anything from the return.
i have the pressurized line being the one on the INSIDE of the car.. not the one closer to the chasis.. it runs on carbie cleaner fine, but then dies. there is fuel coming out the fuel pump but when i removed the fuel pressure reg fuel pored out but when i turned the key nothing came out... this is starting to bug me.. |

this is a clip shoeing it running on carbie cleaner, as soon as it runs out it dies, but then you will hear the occasional pop from it trying to fire...
{DESCRIPTION} something tells me fuel isnt getting into the motor, i did pull the injectors out and turned it over and i got a puff of fuel fire back out past the injectors (as they were still pointing into the intake) |

if you pull the fuel rail from the manifold with injectors attached and crank it a fair bit of fuel should spray out the injectors,
try remove 1 injector and turn the ignition on and see how much fuel comes out the rail.. so either the injectors are not firing(which you said you checked). injectors are completly blocked or fuel is not getting to the rail?(which you checked).. you said the fuel pump primes, but maybe the pump is not running while cranking?? maybe try run 12v directly to the fuel pump and try again... |

If you bypassed smartlock to start the startermotor wouldn't you will need to bypass it to have power to the fuel pump at start aswell.

i bypassed the smartlock in the BCM for the starter, i also running a smartlock bypass to the ECU (pin 3 - green with violet trace)
i just swapped the injectors and pressure reg and checked timing, all seems good. also changed ECU's over.. |

Even though you have the smartlock bypass, if you have recently swapped the BEM's and s**t the car could be throwing a tantrum. Go through the relearning cycle and see if that helps.
1. Turn the key 2 clicks 2. Leave it there for 30-1hr 3. After wards the Smartlock jewel will either be gone or completely lit, then try and start, should relearn the BEM then. From memory the bypass will make the ECU happy but if you have swapped the BEM, the BEM will still have the s**t, has to relearn the keys/barrel etc. Hopefully that helps
