ok, had a good look at it all and fairly certain its only the bushes that need doing. i think they are metal for the diff cradle and the rest are the polyurethane type?
has anyone had theres done? how much should i expect to pay? and it would be a diff out job, so is it less fuss to take it somewhere and give them the parts or do it myself? marty |

Hiya, You can come to my work, I work in a Auto and Diff shop, very easy to recon your diff, we have done heaps of B-series diffs before, and because your a fordmods member, Will be able to discount the price for you, the diff's come out easy enough, and at the same time we can do the bushes for you, Most likely just a day job, Drive in, Drive out.
If you can tell me what is totally wrong with it, i.e. clumps, metal on metal, grinding sounds, etc, and I take it the control arm bushes are gone? If you can make it to Noosa, then I will make sure the boss takes care of you with price etc, oh and 12mth warranty on all work . And you get to meet me!! I will get you a ball-point figure today. Laticia.

thank you for the offer, but noosas a bit far for us to drive.
but just a quick question, how much would all bushes and pins cost? also with the diff, ive noticed it has been slowly getting a fine coating of oil on it, but not noticeably leaking on the ground (i hope that can make sense ) marty |

if its easy enough to do, i'll probably do it myself to save a few bucks, but if it seems too involved, i might be going for a drive up to noosa

I'll look at the BA we have on the hoist tommorrow, and check out how hard it would be for you,
One tool you will need is a press, to push the old bush out, and once you have the new ones in, they have to be tighten with all the car wheels on the ground. and you must use the grease that comes with the bush kit, otherwise they will crack, I've done them before, normally get it all done in just over an hour. anyway, i'll get the price from my suppler tommorrow for you Laticia. P.S. clean that oil of your diff housing otherwise your gonna get dirt and gunk on it. and also, if it starts drooling again, you will be able to see where it is coming from....

Marty, where abouts in Brisbane are you? North or southside? I know of a really good suspension joint to take it to for all bushes and suspension components. They may also change diffs at the same time as the cradle bushes are replaced for free, provided the assembled centre is provided.
