Sounds like something is wrong with the throttle cable or throttle body. Id disconnect the throttle cable at the throttle body and check to see how smooth the operation is. Do the same with the throttle body. Open and close it and see how smooth it is. Not uncommon for falcon throttle cables to brake the outer portion or seize.

Unplug the ISC (idle speed controller) and give it a rev. It might want to stall if its cold, so do it when the motors warmed up.

Pretty sure the motor will stall whether warm or cold if u disconnect the ISC. I got rid of mine, motor revs and drops to idle perfectly. I have a block bolted to the position with a screw so i can adjust the idle.

Cheers

Daz

It will run fine without an ISC, just maybe a little grumpy when cold. Mine hasn't been connected for ages, manuals never seem to want to idle properly.

Okay so we've found the problem.
Either spend a $100 odd on a new ISC, or turn up the idle screw and leave the ISC bolted on, just unplugged.
I havent run an ISC for years now, I've got a little billet plate where it once lived. Idle is set to about 700 cold, which is about 800 warm.
ISCs suck more than a hooker.

Damn. Mine won't idle cold for a minute, I have to give it throttle to start, idles at 800 cold 12/1300 warm, and when its cold it wants to stall as I change gears.

Oh I forgot to mention I've got a J3 chip, certainly helps things there.

I've taken out my ISC, but then fairlane rev's drop quick, but what I did was increase the idle speed, just a tiny bit, starts cold (and its bloody cold in Noosa atm!) once the car has warmed up (not me!! LOL)
it rev's about 900rpm ...

normally on auto's if you unplug them, straight up, it will stall .. But I think you need to bump up your idle speed ...

Laticia.

It shouldnt run any different with or without the ISC connected.... And yes in general they do cause a slow return to idle, its part of the tune in the ECU.
Unplug it, bump up the idle, enjoy how a manual Falcon should drive.

This.

Same goes for auto equipped falcons too, piss the bloody thing off and be done with the dreaded rev hang.
