How hard do you guys rekon this would be to repair? I havent actually seen them in the flesh so I dont know how they are held together, but I would think it wouldnt be too much of an issue...

I would say pretty easy, take off the doortrim, unbolt armrest, and I'd guess the top section would have bolts or screw on the inside of the armrest, then all it would take would be some staples or glue depending on what the base is made from.

Yeh thats how I thought they were fastened but I'm hoping someone here can confirm. I'll probably change the material to black anyway.

About 5 or 6 screws attach it to the armrest.
Has it actually torn ?? or can you reglue it and tuck it underneath the plastic base ?? Either way it's easy to recover it - if you remove the original cloth, carefully remove it, as it will most likely be stuck to the foam. Use contact glue.

that padded bit i believe is glued in.
from memory on dad's one it had about 3? legs the go into the armrest and then glue around the base of them |

No you must remove the whole armrest then there is five or six screws holding the padded bit on. Mine was glued because the screws where stripped.

Yeh I know how to remove the armrest, I just havent played around with any padded arm rests yet.
I dunno if its torn, I think its just the stitching which has broken. I think I'll pick them up and see if I can repair them or retrim them in black. |
