Is there an oil additive to stop auto gearboxes from slipping when changing gear?

if it slips, service it if the oil is shagged. if it still slips she's shagged. unless it's a 3 speed, then you can adjust the bands

I spoke to a transmission specialist and he said sometimes slippage can be from a glazed "cone" in the auto and if you change the oil and include a special additive it can be restored.

I thought most of the early btr 4 spds have external band adjustment things?
But I have been told by several tranny places that if the bands get bad enough to need adjusting from outside the box their completely rooted anyway because the gearbox adjusts the bands itself..
