I dont get drone with a system everyone on here thinks should - single muffler 2.5" Lukey exhaust with 4480s up front (had 4499s, no diff to drone but a noticeable exh. note change).
A mates EF mont had a 2 muffler system and had f**k chronic drone from 1700-2500 lol. Oh and EL___Fairmont... "(owner operated shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!)" OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I'v tried almost every single-system they make for SOHC 4.0, haven't tried xforce but.
I have alot of mods need a good exhaust i want something that performs good and sounds good something that is pretty quiet under 2500rpm Every system iv tried on EL has had a nasty note around 1500-3000rpm its not just EL every auto 4.o iv had has had it I was advised by muffler shop to fit a high flow tail pipe muffler, got mandrel bent 2.5inch tailpipe with straight through muffler fitted it got rid of drone completely and sounded quite nice at idle but leaving shop i could feel a power drop didn't have the punch it use to have. It did not get rid of the loudness between 1500-2500rpm, to me it sounds like its being thrashed but im doing 2500rpm gear changes The way i see it if 3 cylinders are feeding 1 muffler it would have to sound better then 6 cylinders into 1 muffler. I know XR6 twin isn't 3 into 1 design but it can be done now i know XR8 system will work. I love my EL don't really like AU BA that much and decent FG's still bit pricey just want it to have quality sound |
