as i've recently put a EF fairmont cluster in my eb, it needs an el ecu so that the temp gauge will work but my car don't have smartlock. So any info on how to make a bypass module would be helpful.

thanks for that, but i've already read through that before and it didn't help because my car doesn't have smartlock to start with. I'm starting to think just get a j3

Just buy the smartlock bypass module form Shiftkits.com

Based on that fact my Mum is the best around!

Get a J3 chip, you can disable the smartlock through that, alot easier than the shiftkits.com option.

Can also give it a bit of tweak to suit yours mods too.

its gonna be a J3 as i can get one brand new for less than a smartlock bypass module.
J3-$124 with el xr tune smartlock disabled and no speed limit and my bbm will work
Bypass Module-Ebay $125, Shiftkits.com.au $135
