Re the handbrake refer to your other thread.

As for using the EL diff in your ED, you will need to use the EL upper control arms, to bolt it in.

The other main change is the brake lines. The ED has one brake line on the passenger side to a distro block on the passenger diff housing, and a metal brake line that runs along the diff to the calipers. The EL has a flexi line on each side from the chassis to the calipers. It isn't to hard to relocate the metal brake line from the ED housing to the EL housing.

Cheers

I thought you can use the same control arms, since it is xr6 dif , so the trailing arm goes in the lower rear hole for best performance.

The EL XR upper control are the same length as the ED Std ones, but are a different shape, with the diff end bent to allow for the diff housing clearance on rear end squat.

Just did this conversion in my 94 xg ute, I used the lsd centre out of the el diff and refitted into my diff and used my axels and did all the bearings at the same time and didn't even take a day at the shop. cost me $500

The work you described is needed for Wagons and Utes as they use Leaf Springs.

The sedans with their coil springs have a much wider range of factory complete 3.45 diffs to choose from and it is easy to do a bolt in swap for just the purchase price of the donor diff. I have seen 3.45 LSD diffs for sedans go for as little as $150.
