More info would be nice. So your speedo isn't registering any speed at all - all the time??
First thing you can try is to accelerate your car from rest, and manually upchange the auto - if it will change from 1 to 2 to 3, and not 4th gear, there is no output from the speed sensor on the g/box. If you get all your gears, it sounds like an indicator problem.
Try that and see how you go . . . .

a while ago mine stopped working too, it gradually got worse. ended up being the speed sensor in the tranny it siezed up or got hard to turn and stripped the little plastic cog. speed sensor is mounted on the side of the tranny towards the top and held in by a single 10mm bolt. jack your car up and remove and inspect it. oil should not spill out but make sure its not hot. turn the ignition on and spin the little cog while someone watches the spedo. this will at least determine of your speed sensor works.

from memory the speed sensor was $53 and cog was $9
