hi
just asking a few things 1. will a eb/edv8 diff fit a eb/ed 6 cyl 2. will a eb/ed xr6 diff fit a eb/ed 6 cyl 3. if you fit a eb/ed v8 or a xr6 diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl do you have to change the speedo sender or will the speedo be out and does it make the car use more fuel than with the original diff 4. if you fit a eb/ed LSD diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl Non LSD do you have to change the speedo sender or will the speedo be out and does it make the car use more fuel than with the original diff 5. what do you have to replace or do to fit a eb/ed xr6 or v8 diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl and how long does it take to fit a eb/ed xr6 or v8 diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl 6. what do you have to replace or do to fit a eb/ed LSD diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl and how long does it take to fit a eb/ed LSD diff to a eb/ed 6 cyl 7. does fitting a diff with diffrent ratios make the car use more fuel and affect the speedo and will the speedo be out |

Since you asked all of these Q's ^^^^^.....for you it would take a week...for someone who knows, a couple of hours. Happy motoring

I hope this helps! Laticia.

holy s**t I'm confused...
as Laticia said... All diffs from EBII to AUI are the same physically... only the ratio changes in them... a low number (3.08, 3.23) will give you more speed at the wheels for "x" amount of tailshaft revolutions, a high number (3.89, 4.11) will give you more power at the wheels, but consequently less speed at the wheels for the same number of tailshaft revs... so with a high ratio diff you need more tailshaft revs to get the same wheel revs so you will use slightly more fuel to be doing the same speed but will give better off the line launches... Any ratio change with effect the speedo... An LSD has no bearing on the diff physically or its a ratio... only effects how "differential" the individual wheel speeds can be... CHeers, Tim

buy an XR6 diff then... that will give you 3.45 ratio with an LSD...
If you just change the internals over you have re-shim and set the diff up from scratch again otherwise it'll chop out the gears one you... If you want more still then go for 3.89 or 4.11's but unless you have the know how you'll need a diff place to put them in (unless you find a whole diff with the gears already installed)... Cheers, Tim
