Looking for help with Bosch alternator wiring on EA, EB, EB (and maybe later) 85A alternators.

These alterators are also fitted to Magnas and have a different reguator setup than earlier Falcon (XF) jobs.

They have 3 wires

One is for battery so that is easy.

Not sure about the other two (guess one is dash light)

Can any one help?

1 be +ve to the battery also 1 would be earth and the other would be to the dash as u say

What wiring does the XF have??

In addition to the power lead which you've identified, the Bosch then has the connector on the regulator with two pins - one is the Lamp circuit which also actually activates the regulator - and the other is the battery sense (I think identified as "L" and "S" respectively next to the socket).

If you get those back to front you instantly kill the regulator - the alternator will charge but it'll be inconsistent - the obvious sign of this problem is no BATT warning light when you turn the ignition on.

You can buy connector plugs for any alternator type from an Auto electrician for few bucks - so you can connect the wiring to all look factory.

XF has

+ve to batt
lamp
some 7v out for carb heater

hmmm, alternators are usually earthed through the case.......

L terminal: Charge Ind Lt
B/B+ terminal: +ve battery via fusible link
S terminal: +ve battery via fusible link

B/B+ and S can be joined together. Earth is via alternator frame.
