ok ive been tackling this today.. and everything has been going quite smoothly until i was putting the bottom of the AU seat onto the EL rail.. The front 2 alley key bolts on the bottom seat do not line up.. the whole on the rail lines up with a different hole.. but its too big and has no thread on it..

What can i do to overcome this??

when i did my AU front seats into my EL i changed the rails on the AU seat to the EL rails and they just bolted in.

you cut the mounting brackets off the EL seats, do the same to the AU seats. then bolt the EL brackets to the AU rails. They just bolt in then.

i figured out how to fix this.. i simply took all the soft parts off the metal base and swapped them over.. but it was wierd because the drivers side bolted right up.. but the passenger side did not.

my old seat was all rickety and moved all over the place.. when i looked underneath i found that the nuts that were welded into the bottom of the metal base had been torn out.... i wonder how that happened haha

I did exactly that, swapped over the seat pad cushion, then swapped frames. The hardest part is the rear seat, peeled all the foam off the el one and wired the frame to the au frame. Took hours.

Yeah common problem on falcon seats, if only toyota or someone could have helped ford out, the motors are unbeatable it's the rest of the s**t, tht has so many failures.

i just converted my EA seats to AU ones what we did is we cut the legs on the front off and welded them to the AU rails after lining them up to match with the floor plan and then spaced the rear mounting holes and longer bolts everything mated up and was time for snags and beers all round.

will try and get a pic or two up and show it during the week.
