Some history
The bloke i bought it off claimed the car was overheating and would only drive for 10 - 15 minutes before it stopped where you had to wait an hour before it would start again untill the car eventually no longer started at all. He replaced the radiator. had it looked at and serviced to no avail. The mechanic could not find what the problem was. He was gonna sell it to the wreckers untill i jumped in and bought it for a measly $500. The day i got it When i got it home it actually started! hooray! but the excitement was short lived as it no longer started after that first time After looking at it for a couple of days i could not find the problem. Checked everything and replaced the BCM. I decided it was time to hitup fordmods for help. After explaining the symptoms it was suggested it could possibly be a bad earth wire somewhere. I went ahead and checked every earth in the car i could. They all appeared to be fine. A few more days passed when i noticed that inside the plastic battery holder was a nice amount of white battery corrosion powder this got me thinking that maybe just maybe some acid had leaked onto the wires that run under the battery including the earth wire. So i visually checked them all and all seemed fine, A few hours passed and my dad had decided to recheck but instead of just looking he ran his fingers under the wires and some plastic connectors... Sure enough the under side of the plastic connection that connects the battery to the earth wire was severed and chock full of battery acid and corrosion... We cut the connection and wires off, threw away the melted plastic mess and resoldered the wires together and taped them up, Started the car and bingo! the car fired up and let out the sweetest roar i had ever heard, My falcon was Alive! Not bad for 500 bucks! After a new oil filter and Oil, Trasmission Filter and Oil (which looked like liquid vegemite), Air filter cleaned and a new battery I was ready to go! At this time i was on my Learners and got my P's about 2 weeks ago. So the modifications for now are going to probably be strictly cosmetic as im a Tafe student and have a tight budget. Some pictures as it is now Blue and Red LED cluster lights Taken with my phone so not the best picture Decided to make my car go faster by painting my brake calipers and rotors Ive also modded my door trims. ill post pics up tomorrow when i take some This week I have plans for painting the rocker cover and modding the Air intake. Thanks for viewing, I know its not much compared to some of the other builds on here but i just love my falcon so much i had to share it. The small and simple things always count. Very clean Falcon you got there.

if th oil from u trans looked like "liquid vegemite" as u said, do u mean the oil was black and think and clunky???
If so u btter get it flushed which should cost umax $300.00 and ur trans will last alot longer. As ur a student u may want to consider a LPG conversion as it will save u money depending on how many kms u will do a year.

It wasnt black, it was more a brown, it wasnt thick or clunky, Just felt like oil but looked the same colour id imagine vegemite would look like after being liquified and watered down

Gidday and welcome to Fordmods.
That is certainly a bargain you got mate. As you are based in Sydney, you may want to come down to Liverpool one Friday Night. We have a regular meet up. Here is a link to the {DESCRIPTION}. Cheers BenJ

thats a steal mate, good on ya, i picked mine up for a fairly nice price like that too. so much gratification when after all attempts, finally something works and it fires up
im likeing what you have done with the interior, it looks awsome. not a big fan of the steering wheel covers though, they like to slide around at the most in appropriate moments. just a heads up.

Thanks, Yeah im not the biggest fan of wheel covers however the steering wheel has the usual wear and tear and just doesnt look nice.
Anyways i did away with the EL Air intake tubing from the airbox to the throttle body and put in some intercooler piping. I still need to get a larger snorkel though. What model would i be looking at the wreckers to get a larger snorkel with minimal modifications needed to fit it? Some Pictures |

You could make your own? I've heard of people using bf xr turbo ones, but I personally have not touched mine, might just do some...creative modifications
