Hi guys,
How hard is it to replace the diff bushes on my Fairlane G220? The local dealer workshop suggests $600.00, which does not appear to be too bad a price.

Matey, it is a BIG job and requires you to remove the Rear cradle from the car mainly for the MAIN bush. Attachment: RearEnd.jpg It IS a long process and it needs a hoist really to do it, I sit and watch our Mechanics do one nearly every day, long job. The main bush is the hardest. If your vehicle is before Oct 2005 the MAIN bush is BA 4B425 A $64.00 after Oct 05 BAF 4B425 SF and costs $83.50. The outer bushes Pre Oct 05 BA 4B424 A $40.00 each and after Oct 05 BAF 4B424 A $64.00 each. Attachment: Bushes.JPG

Yep big job. All B series have the issue eventually in their lifetime. More common on the 8's and T's.

Thank you Papa Smurf! You have confirmed what I thought, $600.00 from the dealer workshop is a very good price. I knew I could trust them (since I am their QA and OHS Auditor!). I will book it in next week.
