unfortunatly if you own a b series you will live with it because the other featurs of the car overide the fact that the steering wheel is hideous,
but i cant see whay you want to put one in an e series. :? :? :?

valid point but the steering wheels put in the fairmont ghias are a pleasure to drive and look really good and are a hell of a lot better then the crappy offering you get in a e series

cheers, bear

Correct. The AU air bag is a simpler task, and will suit the e series interior better than any BA steering wheel and airbag

^^ from when I put it in my EL

yea, now that looks good!
why go from what potentially could be that, to an oversized plastic pillow in the centre of your wheel..

BA wheels have smaller outside diameter and feel better and fuller to hold... I couldn't find a decent EF/EL wheel... The momo ones turn to s**t, well all the ones on ebay are... And I don't agree with the pillow either... But man the wheel feels good... Plus a lot more options for them...

Cheers,
Tim

thats why I have one... :D

More options... Your range of FPV wheels, Leather w/ Cubic inserts, The momo (which I have), Territory series... Heaps and heaps to choose from...

One thing I recommend though is going to BA combo arms as this takes the gap back out of it (again all details are in my build thread of its problems)...

If your doing it into an EF/EL I saw somewhere that someone reconed you could drill the rivets and take the airbag out of the EF/EL frame and fit it into the BA horn pad... I'm not sure if it can be done... Being an ED I have no airbags and hence its easy for me as I just scraped it...

One other reason for the BA wheel over aftermarket ones is aftermarket wheels seem to have an abundance of bare steel visible and I hate that look... That looks all ricey to me as it doesn't match anything in the car... At least with a BA wheel it still have a Ford logo in the middle of it and no visible chromed steel and looks more in place than aftermarket ones...

I'll wait and see what becomes available in the range of FG wheels and wait to have a feel of one in that series and again, if it feels good I may even go that way (much smaller airbag)...

Cheers,
Tim

yeah the long and short of it is it's preference, I think the el gt wheel is the sexiest wheel out.
and the ba wheels just feel to fat, but at the end of the day the question isn't is it a nice wheel, it's is how do I fit it, which he'll find out with the various info.

and the aftermarket thing is interesting, I've noticed the same, I'd love a nice leather wheel to replace the tritons f**k steering wheel, but i agree haveing a whole lt of chromework on modern interiors just doesn't suit, the padded up vynil.

I reckon an FG XR wheel in EF/L would be a slick move.
